Vampires:
Nocturnal drinkers of blood, vampires have been the stuff of legends and nightmares for centuries. All vampires host a common, blood-drinking ancestor, but several have learned and adapted, using different sources to feed. Fear, sexual energy, and the auras of souls soon became means of strength, though every vampire has the ability to revert to the use of blood, should others not be available to them. They are typically marked by their fangs, ethereal beauty, coldness, inhuman strength and speed, and magnified senses. They are immortal, though they can be killed through a stake in their hearts, by decapitation, or fire.
They are weakened by crucifixes, garlic, holy water (it's like acid to them), the Bible, and other holy objects. Vampires cannot enter churches, and contact with the items listed will result in permanent scarring. They are not, however, weakened by Christian objects alone. Faith is the factor, and holy objects of any denomination are detrimental to them. Common lore indicates that vampires sleep in coffins filled with the soil of their homeland, but this is not the case.
Vampires have the ability to alter their forms. Some take the shape of bats, others of wolves or dogs, while others might become ravens or spiders. Each vampire generally takes a form that had specific importance to them during their mortal life.
Vampires are created by a strict process. The body must be nearly completely drained of blood, until the vampire can no longer feel the beating heart within their victim. In turn, then, the victim must drink the blood of their maker. Their body then dies, and the transformation begins.
Newer vampires are recognizable by an eerie glow to their eyes. Their natural color becomes more intense, almost entrancing. This, too, marks a hungry vampire. As a vampire grows older and gains more experience, they are better able to control their hunger. The strengths and ability of a vampire largely depend on the age and knowledge of their maker, and how much they are taught. Vampires cannot reproduce, and expand their numbers only through the changing process. This process binds the minds of maker and child together, often creating a band that is like a parent to their child.
NOTE: This is NOT Twilight. Our vampires do not sparkle. The sun...yeah, it's lethal to most of them. They drink the blood of humans, and their bites are not poisonous.
Werewolves:
There are several different kinds of werewolves, but they all share some things in common. If two werewolves mate, the resulting child will be a pure born werewolf. A pure born werewolf will transform from birth.
Loup-garou:
The loup-garou are the most primal of all the werewolves. When in human form they tend to live isolated from normal humans, preferring the company of only other loup-garou. The tend to grow more hair on their body and have slightly elongated canines. Loup-garou typically have a hard time distinguishing when they are in wolf form and when they are not. There are very few loup-garou, since victims of a bite are usually consumed entirely.
What really makes a loup-garou stand out from other werewolves is when they transform. Loup-garou change whenever the moon is out, whether it be day or night. They only take one form, that of a large wolf; six to eight feet in length, weigh several hundred pounds and with shorter legs then a regular wolf. Loup-garou are veritable killing machines, being able to outrun basically anything in short bursts and muscle it to the ground. In this state they are, more or less, indestructible, since they have accelerated healing that makes them immune to basically any damage. Their eyes always glow an unearthly red.
Another thing that distinguishes loup-garou is their lack of weaknesses. They do not have the weakness to silver, like the most common type of werewolf. Wolfsbane irritates them, but it is only a deterrent to them. The only way a loup-garou can be killed is for it's head to be removed while in human form.
Lycanthrope:
Lycanthropes are the most common kind of werewolves. When there is no moon out they do not transform, but when there is, they transform, a little more every night, but only if they are under the moon's light. Lycanthropes are stronger and faster when they're in any form, but grow stronger, faster and harder to damage when it's closer to a full moon.
Lycanthropes are the "bastard" children of the loup-garou; they came about after a wolf fed off a loup-garou victim, then bit a human. From there the affliction spread, but slowly. For someone to become a lycanthrope they must be bitten during the full moon, or, of course, born a lycanthrope. Lycanthropes are far weaker then their progenitors. Wolfsbane causes them acute discomfort, but if it was to get into their bloodstream it could very well kill them. Lycanthropes do not posses the supernatural regeneration of a loup-garou, so they can be killed by large amounts of damage.
Lycanthropes, unlike lou-garou, can control themselves, to an extent. In a full change a lycanthrope is almost entirely animalistic, but there is still some control. With time and practice, lycanthropes can gain more and more control over their transformations and their animalistic natures. Those who have lived with it for a long time, decades, can suppress it entirely, or even transform at will.
Demons:
Spawned from the depths of hell, demons often come across as beautiful--often inhumanly so--beings. They hold immense powers, ranging from teleportation to telekinesis. Many are able to change forms, favoring those of animals, and they have, as a general rule, a taste for the flesh of other beings. They thrive off of the energies radiated by humans, vampires, and werewolves alike. They seek to collect souls for their Master, and generally put themselves about the work of making "deals" with others for this commodity. Demons have the ability to breed, though it is incredibly difficult for them to do so amongst themselves, leaving them, generally, to do so with other species.
Their natural form is similar to that of a gargoyle. They are horned like goats, with batlike wings, and hideous faces. Long, brutal claws extend from their fingers and toes, and their mouths are marked with fangs. Their bodies are brutish and tough in this form, nothing like the sleek human shapes they adopt.
High Demons:
These are those who fell from heaven with Lucifer. They are the purest of demons, and they carry with them a mark of sorrow. They are, by their nature, the strongest, and favor appearing as humans to dwelling in their hideous, natural state. They choose mates amongst their own kind, but are generally compelled to breed with others in order to reproduce. The hold high order amongst their ranks, and are vicious in seeking out those who dishonor them. In the rare instance that High Demons reproduce together, their children are celebrated and carried in the highest esteem. They are the most beautiful of the demons, and carry themselves as such.
High Demons have a love of keeping pets, especially of their own kind. There is a certain thrill in overpowering their own kind.
Lower Demons:
The mixed seed of High Demons, Lower Demons are, naturally, weaker than their sires, as their blood has been diluted as it is passed down. They are often looked down upon by High Demons, despite their heritage, and are the most common.
NOTE: Demons may take animal forms, but in those forms, they look EXACTLY as the animal would naturally, save for having glowing red eyes. When in their human form, they look HUMAN, meaning they do not have a tail or animal ears. They don't want people to know they exist, so they don't go around showing it off.
Humans:
Simple, normal people. The mortal fodder of vampires, humans are susceptible to the curse of werewolves and the taint of vampires.

The Order of the Bath
The Order of the Bath might sound like a rather pleasant order of knights, but don't be fooled. The order was founded only seventy years ago by King George I. The order has one goal; to rid England of all supernatural beings. To do this they fight a daily crusade against werewolves, vampires and anything else that goes bump in the night. Some view the order as heroes of God, but in reality they are close minded religious zealots, for the most part. Even other hunters, such as the Pierdut, have become targets of their ire. The Pierdut do live by a code, a set of rules made over the years to help them keep their people safe.
The Code
1. Never speak of the Pierdut to an outsider
2. Never be captured by the authorities.
3. Do not spend more then a few hours in a Gypsy camp and never spend the night
4. Always kill a vampire twice over (example: stake and holy water)
((More might be added in the future))
Pierdut
The Pierdut are Gypsies, but they are Gypsies that have been tasked with their people's sacred charge; to slay vampires. Pierdut means "Lost" in Romanian, and their title serves to illustrate how other Gypsies view them. In Gypsy society, the Pierdut are given the utmost respect, for they are never allowed to marry, to settle down and hold no station in society. Their lives are entirely devoted to one thing, the destruction of vampires. Gypsies have spread across Europe, and much of the known world for that matter, for the express reason of supporting the Pierdut in their task. Gypsies never speak of the Pierdut to outsiders and few even know they exist. To accomplish their goals, the Pierdut have been known to work with other supernatural beings or even, on occasion, purposefully become one themselves to deal with the vampire threat.
